Suite à l’exposition Celtique ? qui s’est tenue au Musée de Bretagne à Rennes en 2022, et qui avait suscité de nombreuses polémiques quant à l’orientation de son propos, les organisateurs du colloque Bretagne… celtique ! ont souhaité prolonger le débat pour que s’expriment divers avis sur la question.
Le colloque Bretagne… celtique ! donne la parole à des spécialistes de différents horizons qui, comme le fait remarquer Hervé Le Bihan – directeur du labo Celtic BLM de Rennes II – estiment que » le point d’interrogation dans le titre de l’exposition fermait le propos en impliquant une réponse négative » et pensent qu’il faut aller plus loin dans la réflexion.
Évoquant le monde celte depuis ses origines antiques jusqu’à la construction de l’idée des relations interceltiques telle que les nations celtes la vivent depuis 150 ans, le colloque Bretagne… celtique ! approfondira aussi les questions d’identité bretonne et d’identité celtique liées à nos langues et leur usage aujourd’hui, pour offrir un panorama aussi large que possible sur la question.

Following the Bretagne Celtique ? exhibition held in 2022 at the Musée de Bretagne in Rennes, which sparked off a number of controversies about the viewpoint of the exhibition, the organizers of Bretagne… Celtique ! wanted to prolong the discussion to allow a variety of opinions to be expressed on the topic.
The symposium Bretagne… Celtique ! will provide perspectives from different horizons, of which, Hervé Le Bihan’s – Director of the Celtic BLM Lab at Rennes II university- who points out that « the question mark in the title of the exhibition was clowing the subject by implying a negative response » ; and think that the discussion deserves further reflexion.
Evoking the Celtic world, from its ancient origins until the build of inter-Celtic relations as experienced by the Celtic nations over the past 150 years, the Bretagne… Celtique ! symposium will also address the questions of Breton and Celtic identities in relation to our Celtic languages and their use nowadays, to offer as broad a panorama as possible on the issue.
